2nd China Platform Academic Forum on medicine and health sciences

Following the successful first edition of the China Platform Academic Forum (CPAF) held in September 2021, the second edition took place from 17-21 October 2022.

This second edition focused on medicine and health and was co-organised between Ghent University’s Faculty of Medicine & Health Science and Wuhan University of Science and Technology.
The China Platform Academic Forum was coordinated by Prof Dr Wei-Hong Zhang from Ghent University, and Prof Dr Zhiyong Zhang from Wuhan University of Science and Technology. The conference invited experts from China and Belgium to deliver keynote speeches about, among other topics, the organization of care for the elderly in Belgium; the implementation of blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease; the elderly care for ‘empty nesters’ and living arrangements of the first generation of only-child parents in China; and the lasting health impact of early-life chronic poverty.
