ELEVATE: new goals and strategies for the fight against cervical cancer

The ELEVATE consortium wants to empower women in any setting to screen their risk of developing cervical cancer, while also guaranteeing rapid and easy-to-understand results by developing new screening strategies, including a new point-of-care screening device.

During the last week of April, a group of ICRH Belgium colleagues participated in productive meetings with fellow experts on HPV from Ecuador, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, the UK and Germany as part of the ELEVATE project. The consortium meeting was hosted by Cuenca University in Ecuador. The focus was on the piloting of the newly developed cervical cancer screening tool, and on identifying new avenues to continue fruitful collaborations and drive progress in the fight against cervical cancer.
The project members have been working tirelessly to establish new goals and strategies for combating HPV. We are confident that their efforts will help to enhance the screening coverage for cervical cancer, particularly for hard-to-reach women.
