ICRH team members participated in the celebration of the 15th Anniversary of the China Platform
On March 22nd, Prof. Wei-Hong Zhang and Prof. Zhiyong Zhang were invited to the China Platform's 15th Anniversary Celebration.
Mr. Yushan Yu, Mr. Jun Zhang, and Ms. Min Zhao exhibited academic posters. Presentations and panel discussions included topics such as innovation, internationalization and future research opportunities.
In the morning session, Prof. Guido Van Huylenbroeck, Director of Internationalisation at Ghent University, gave a welcome speech. Following that, two panel discussions were held, about internationalization and research opportunities for future sustainable collaborations.
The afternoon session began with a presentation on innovation and R&D, and future prospects with China. Following the plenary session, the meeting was attended by H.E. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Belgium, Prof. Rik Van de Walle, Rector of Ghent University, and Prof. Mieke Van Herreweghe, Vice-Rector of Ghent University. Prof. Mieke Van Herreweghe delivered a speech praising China's positive cooperation and accomplishments. H.E. Mr. Cao Zhongming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China, expressed his gratitude and admiration for the China Platform's accomplishments and expressed hope that the two countries' exchanges and cooperation would be strengthened following the end of the pandemic. Finally, Prof. Luc Taerwe, Director of the Ghent University China Platform, announced the publication of the third volume of 15 years China Platform: from monkey to ox.
