Webinar for the 4th Edition of the EU-China Health
The EU-China Health Forum is an annual event, initiated by Ghent University in 2017. This year was the main focus on “Public and Reproductive Health in the COVID-19 Times”
Due to the Corona virus, it was an online webinar on December 12th.and co-organised by Ghent University, Tsinghua University, the National Research Institute for Family Planning and the China Family Planning Association.
Prof. Wei-Hong Zhang, of ICRH, Ghent University, chaired the forum and introduced the background and objectives of the forum. Opening addresses were given by Mrs. Jianli Han (First Secretary for Science and Technology, the Mission of the People's Republic of China to the European Union) Prof. Luc Taerwe (Director of the China Platform at Ghent University), Prof. Olivier Degomme (Director of ICRH Belgium and ANSER Network Coordinator, Ghent University) and Mr. Ao Sun (Secretary-General at Beijing Xinkang Charity Foundatio).
The keynote speeches focussed on three topics:
Sexual and Reproductive Health,
Elderly Policy in an Ageing Society,
Diagnosis and Treatment of COVID-19 at COVID-19.
These keynotes were given by Ms. Ping Hong (China Family Planning Association), Mr. Jan Booij (Director JBA and Founder of the European Network on Intercultural Elderly Care), Prof. Kaiyan Pei (National Research Institute for Family Planning China) Prof. Jan Gettemans (Ghent University) and Prof. Kun Tang (Tsinghua University).
At the closing ceremony, Ms. Xiaolin Guo, Counsellor for Science & Technology Affairs of Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Kingdom of Belgium, addressed her wish for the prospective collaboration of Science & Technology between China and Belgium and is looking forward for an intensive cooperation.
The 5th EU-China Health Forum is expected to be held in Ghent, Belgium in September 2021.

A successful first edition of the ANSER Conference on SRHR policy research
On 1 and 2 December 2016, the Academic Network for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights Policy organised its first international conference.
