Ms Laurence Hendrickx

Since January 2021, she is a providing assistance to the department on the development, implementation and follow-up of departmental strategies and action plans, mainly regarding societal outreach and research. 

Trained as veterinarian, Laurence embarked on a career in development cooperation in Southern Africa, where she worked for the Flemish government, the United Nations, and for 5 years in Mozambique in a Ghent University-coordinated interdisciplinary Inter-University Development Cooperation Programme on sexual and reproductive health and rights. After her 23 year-long stay abroad, Laurence returned to Ghent in 2017 and joined Ghent University again, working in the central administration on the development of the policy plan for internationalisation.
